Priya the Platypus - On the Move follows in the webbed feet steps of an eight year old platypus named Priya. The story takes place in the countryside of New South Wales, Australia. It is told from the point of view of an eight year old platypus named Priya. Priya and her fellow platypus friend Prunella, lead a nomadic life due to environmental threats, such as land clearing and bush fires. A range of different wildlife who calls New South Wales their home is also impacted by these environmental concerns. These creatures include Bruce the brushturkey and a green and golden bell frog called Georgina. The reader gets to explore the interesting habitat of the platypus, whilst at the same time, enjoying a true to life based story featuring the wondrous creatures of Australia. Laney the long-nosed bandicoot will delight with her intriguing pouch, as she tries to find a forever home. This is where the theme of nature lending a helping hand is thoroughly explored, as Prunella, Laney, and Bruce the brushturkey assist the other creatures forced to flee from land clearing or bush fire devastation. The theme of nature sticking together and that the life of New South Wales creatures isn't always what you read in nature books, flows through the story like a stream. Friendship is also covered thoroughly through Priya's relationship with Bruce, Georgina and Prunella, alongside others. There is an environmentally conscious theme that is explored through warnings about the devastation that land clearing and bush fires can cause to habitats. The main theme of pulling together to get through trouble and strife comes out, as a range of animals group together to find new homes. This book is aimed to support independent reading for those aged seven and upwards. It is a great story to start off on independent reading, and to begin a journey in habitat learning. *Advisory Note This story is designed to reflect the reality of nature in the habitat in which it is set. Therefore, some scenes such as Priya's fight for survival against Walter the water rat, in the first chapter, may require some parental commentary. This said the chapter goes to great lengths to explain the events that are happening and the rules of nature dictating this behaviour.

Through Percy's point of view you get to marvel at this piece of the world, whilst reflecting upon the changes to the climate that are affecting life in this marvelous place. When Anniita the Arctic Fox follows behind Percy in his search for food, it allows the introduction of the biological concept of commensalism - where one species obtains food or other benefits from the other without either harming or benefiting the latter. This helps to achieve a balance between an engaging story; centered around a search for food and recognizing and adapting to change, whilst incorporating true facts about the habitat and the creatures that live there. Join Percy on the journey to food and to discovery; learning how to embrace and adapt to the changing world. There is an unavoidable distraction for Percy on the road to survival and understanding the changing world. Kâlîna is the most radiant and sweet smelling polar bear that he has even come across. Percy also tries to rise to the challenge of winning Kâlîna's, but he must compete with the young polar bear; Salik for that honour. *Author's note; this book is perfectly suitable to be read independently by those aged 7 years old upwards. However, parent / adult commentary may be required for chapter 6. This book is fully supportive of Montessori education and is an honest, updated account of the world of the modern polar bear. Therefore, the theme of animal cannibalism is touched upon in chapter 6. This is covered in an objective, non-glorified way and is a key to understanding the modern world in which the polar bear dwells.*

'Alfonso the Giant Anteater' follows in the clawsteps of a five year old giant anteater name Alfonso. Who lives and stars as the lead role in the show that is life on Llanos in Venezuela. Alfonso takes the reader on a journey through his day to day life in Llanos. This colorful character clearly sees himself as the star of the area. He takes the readers with him to search for termites; he introduces them to a variety of creatures who call Llanos their home. This includes eight capybaras, of which one of these was born in a zoo in Great Britain; Colin. Through Alfonso's point of view an understanding of the rich ecosystem of Venezuela is provided. Alfonso tells it like it is; the good, the bad and the in-between. The story told, whilst fictional, is based on researched habitat facts, behaviours of anteaters and other creatures who call Llanos their home. The story is told from Alfonso's point of view, in order to build in an awareness of the concept of empathy for the readers. You see the world how Alfonso does. Undertake the interactions that Alfonso does. This includes a frightening one involving Jackson the Jaguar; who sits on the top of the food chain in this area. Alfonso opens up about life and survival on Llanos, as well as glowing with pride about being the star of the story. Alfonso feels the need to make it clear he is the star due to the fact that there are many capybaras in the story. These large rodents often hog the limelight, but Alfonso is having none of it: "When, I think you call them tourists come on trips to see the wildlife of Llanos they always spend most of their time watching capybaras. Oh, and taking pictures of them. Even trying to get pictures with them; selfies you call them. Well, in this story and out here; I'm the star." As you can see from the above, Alfonso is a colourful larger than life character. In his search for termites that includes a meeting with Lucia a Llanos long-nosed armadillo, a theme of peaceful co-existence is explored. This is the fourth book in the 'Animal Adventures' series, but can easily be read as a standalone book. Whilst the reading age is 7+, this book is perfectly suitable for being read to children of a younger age. This book is designed to entertain, inform and educate readers about the rich ecosystem of Llanos in Venezuela. It is a great introduction to the wonderful creature that is the giant anteater.

Other characters such as Ignacio the Marine Iguana and Otto the Octopus meet Bryony; helping you to understand the different characters and creatures who call the Galapagos Islands their home. The importance and the need to understand that not everyone is born bright, so patience is required shines out when Bryony and Bobo get together. It is not long before you start to wonder whether Bobo is as daft as he may seem? This comes out especially in his encounter with Ernesto the hungry eel who is trying to catch some crabs for lunch. Bryony starts to see changes in Bobo and their friendship. Where will it all lead?
