- Bigfoot and the Librarian
1
Something in the Water? Marnie Somerset's new job at the Mystic Springs Library seems almost too good to be true. Yes, the small Alabama town is populated with more than its share of odd people, and she did have a flat tire on her way into town and hallucinate Bigfoot crossing the road, which made for less than a stellar start. But the library is fantastic, her new house is charming, and the hot local writer keeps crossing her path. In more ways than one. Clint Maxwell is drawn to the new librarian, even though he knows getting involved with someone from outside Mystic Springs would be a very bad idea. Marnie's not a Springer, and she won't last long in a town awash with magic. Still, when she's threatened he feels compelled to protect her. Is she meant to be his? Is this the woman he's been waiting for?
- Beauty and the Beastmaster
2
For Gabi Lawson, Mystic Springs has been the perfect hiding place for her and her daughter. For the past year she's kept her head down and made a decent living cutting and styling hair. Even though she's becoming comfortable in her new home, she's always behind locked doors when the sun goes down. The last thing she wants or needs is a man in her well-structured life. Silas Hollister is the town critter guy. If your pet is sick or you have bats in your attic, he's the one to call. Like many in Mystic Springs, his career is shaped by his gift. He communicates with animals in a way others can't even dream of. When he's approached about helping along a spell that will isolate the town once and for all, he's on board. His assignment seems easy enough. All he has to do is make sure Non-Springer Gabi is out of town when the spell goes down. When Silas's bloodhound Judge connects with Gabi and her daughter in a special way, it's clear he's determined to protect them. Is Judge protecting the woman and her baby from some unknown danger, or from Silas himself?
- Santa and the Snow Witch
Luke Benedict is Mystic Springs' very own Santa. He's also owner of the hardware store and the local handyman. Not everything can be fixed with magic. His gift is a handy one; he knows what those around him need before they do. What he can't see is what he needs. Jordan Carter's family has been making it snow on Christmas Eve for years, but this year there's a problem. She can't call up a single flake. Something within her is broken, and going to Luke for help is a desperate response. Maybe he'll see what she needs. Is it possible that what she needs is him?
Linda Winstead Jones
The first clue Linda had that she might like to write for a living came when she took a community education class in creative writing at the local high school. Taking classes was her hobby at the time, and creative writing came between yoga and French, or maybe between cake decorating and Chinese cooking. It was her first experience of meeting and working with other writers. She had always loved to read, and soon found that she loved writing. For years writing was just a hobby, one she sometimes attacked with a vengeance and then set aside for months at a time. When the time came to give completing a book a serious try, she was ready. Guardian Angel, a Western historical romance, was written at her kitchen table. Not long after she mailed it to a publisher, she discovered the local RWA chapter, Heart of Dixie, and joined. She knew right away that these were her people, and she hasn't wandered far since. Apparently unable to say no, she has served as conference chairman, president, luncheon chairman, and vice president. Easily bored, she soon deviated from historical romance into time travel, fairy-tale romance, and romantic suspense. When she's not writing, Linda can be found at hockey games (where she's a season ticket holder for the local team), a meeting of writers (a necessity and a joy that she will never give up), or doing the family thing with an ever-growing and wonderful family.
