Writing with a velvety touch, Margaret McPhee stirs passions with tales that harken back to a more romantic age - while raising pulses in the here and now. McPhee is at her scandalous best in Unmasking the Duke's Mistress, which features Arabella, a fallen woman about to don the mask of Miss Noir at Mrs. Silver's House of Pleasures. Arabella's former love, Dominic Furneaux, is the last man she hoped would enter her new place of employ, but when he does, he surprises her by offering a way out - as his mistress.

In A Dark and Brooding Gentleman, acclaimed Regency-era author Margaret McPhee tells the story of reformed rake Sebastian Hunter and the far-too-pretty Phoebe Allardyce, his estranged mother's paid companion. Sparks fly until he catches Phoebe trying to steal a priceless heirloom from the manor. What Sebastian doesn't know is that her father's been kidnapped and Phoebe has stolen the heirloom for a ransom -- and might just steal his heart as well.

Author

Margaret McPhee

Margaret McPhee trained as a scientist, but was always a romantic at heart. She wrote two manuscripts and suffered numerous rejections from publishers and agents before joining the Romantic Novelists Association. A further two manuscripts later and with help from RNAs new writers' scheme, her first regency romance was born. Margaret enjoys cycling, tea and cakes and loves exploring the beautiful scenery and wildlife of the islands of Scotland with her husband.
