A gang that usually holds up drugstores robs and kills the manager of a dance hall. A stake-out in a garage yields results and a total of twelve guns. After a trial, two of the gang break out of jail. A gang of hold up men has been running loose in the city. They've committed more than a dozen robberies and are heavily armed and quick to shoot. Detective Sergeant Joe Friday has been assigned to Robbery Detail and it's his job to stop them.

The Police receive information that an escaped criminal, called Alfred Garvey, is hiding out in the City. While searching for him at a hotel Garvey shoots an off-duty cop, and friend of Friday and Romero, John Maxwell. He was about to go on vacation but decided to visit Friday and Romero first. Soon a Police manhunt is launched to find Garvey.

A gang of hijackers have started to work in the city and truck loads of valuable merchandise have vanished. The thieves are clever and seem to have a fool proof system. Seven other armed robberies have been committed in the past 16 days by the same man with the same M.O.

Jack Webb
Jack Webb (1920-1982) was an American actor, television producer, director, and screenwriter, who is most famous for his role as Sgt. Joe Friday in the Dragnet franchise (which he created). He was the founder of his own production company, Mark VII Limited.
