    With each new case that's crossed Trinity's desk, a forlorn feeling has wrapped itself around her. Her heart has been broken one too many times by the system. It's time to call it a good, productive life, and know that in her heart, she's done the very best she can for all of the kids that've come through her life. Now, it's time to pass the reins to her youngest daughter, Cora.

     

    With Christmas right around the corner, they celebrate with their friends and family while getting ready for all of the festivities that accompany the holiday. While doing so, tragedy strikes another family. She and Chief decide to step in and mentor the remaining parent, as well as help him and his children while they heal.

      First, there were four of them, then eventually six. The house was always chaotic; filled with laughter, love, and quite a few shenanigans along the way.   Now there are just the two of them.   Braxton has noticed his woman spiraling downward since Landon and Layne graduated. Since they dropped the pair off at college and went back home to Corinth, he's watched her slowly disappear into herself. Not even the girls' weekend he and his brothers arranged for their women helped; she came home even more despondent. He's eager to get the woman he fell in love with back and pulls out all the stops to ensure she realizes they may not have started their lives in the traditional manner, but at the end of the day, there's always just been the two of them.   Cara's had a hard time becoming an empty nester. With all four of her children moving out and beginning their lives, she's lost. With their retirement looming in the background, what's a woman to do with her spare time? The loss of driving the kids to their events has her moping and walking through her days like a zombie. That's where Braxton steps in, and once again, saves the day.       Hatchet   Watching the love of my life suffer from a physical ailment has been some of the hardest moments of my life. It's my job as her man to take care of her, and with this issue, my hands were tied. As she suffers through finding herself again, I vow that I'll never leave her side, and do everything within my power to make sure she comes out the other side with her light still shining bright. This may be the most important mission of my life. I will not abort, and I will pull her over the hill, kicking and screaming if that's the way it has to be.   DJ   As a woman, I feel like a failure. When your body betrays you, how do you combat that? Once the pain dims after a surgical procedure, it's time for me to reconnect with him and let him remind me that just because there's a piece of me missing, it doesn't mean I'm not attractive, needed, and desired. The biggest problem? Our kids popping in non-stop to check on me which means no privacy with my man. When I finally break and book a getaway, it's my hope that Hatch will come with me.     I have been an avid reader for most of my life. When I was younger I use to sit and fill spiral notebooks full of stories for my grandmother. As I got older I took the jobs needed for raising my boys as a single mom until I met my now amazing husband. I have stopped working in the last three years and started promoting authors, then I blogged and reviewed for authors, which lead me down the path to writing and creating characters and stories. I love creating behind the scenes with my writing getting to use my imagination and write the story as it comes to me.
