About this series

The Concept is simple. They give you a picture and a written prompt, and then it is up to you to write a 250-word story based on the prompts. So very simple and so incredibly hard all at the same time. There is heart ache, there is pain, there are stories that have more than 250 words in them. That is the concept from the Indies Unlimited flash fiction challenge.

Within these pages you will find all sorts of stories ranging from romance, abject horror, and maybe even a little humor. Like a full course tasting menu, each new small bite brings a range of flavors to entice and excite.

One thing that you may notice for this installment that is slightly different than the previous year’s stories, these stories have broken some rules. The most obvious, some of these stories have gone over the 250-word limit. But even the ones that seem to have gone well over that limit, remain within the realm of flash fiction.

Today isn't Wednesday (unless it is). That may sound crazy but Wednesdays are an important day. You see Saturdays are the day when Indies Unlimited shares a picture and a word prompt for a weekly flash fiction challenge. Wednesdays are day when the world has a chance to vote for their favorite story written from the week's prompt. Voting day is something of a holiday. In this collection you will find the past years collection of flash fiction stories from a single author, a year plus one anyway. That's right, fifty-three stories to delight and amaze, you, the reader. This collection contains a wide range of stories. Within these pages you will find stories to give you chills and stories to warm your heart. But the best part of the stories inside. Each one is roughly 250 words, just a little longer than this description. What you might find upon reading this, the stories themselves are addictive. You know you can't read just one.
