    Rebecca F. Kuang is the #1 New York Times and #1 Sunday Times bestselling author of the Poppy War trilogy, Babel: An Arcane History, and Yellowface. Her work has won the Nebula, Locus, Crawford, and British Book Awards. A Marshall Scholar, she has an MPhil in Chinese Studies from Cambridge and an MSc in Contemporary Chinese Studies from Oxford. She is now pursuing a PhD in East Asian Languages and Literatures at Yale, where she studies diaspora, contemporary Sinophone literature, and Asian American literature.

      Super engaging and wonderfully written. The narrator was a perfect choice for this audiobook. I am excited for the next one!

      Very, very well written. Great characters and plot that keeps you guessing and surprised! Note: trigger warnings on gore and rape

      Wired wrote in 2018: The Poppy War, by R.F. Kuang. Rin, an orphan girl, lights herself on fire and watches her school burn. The world is not saved.

      It is a perfect description of such a heavy book.

      Rin learns early on that pain leads to success but will, later on, learn that success can be even more painful than failure.
