The Shifting World holds many wondrous mysteries and magics, but Jane finds herself unique among them in her power to touch an object and have visions. That unique ability intrigues her grandfather enough to lead them to the city of Rubris, a metropolis buried underneath an unhealthy fascination for junk. They search for an item that will activate her ability and find one in the most unlikely object, an old compass. The compass points in an unknown direction, but they quickly learn that it leads to trouble. A mysterious guild wants the compass and will do anything to have it, including killing them. In the middle of all this trouble is Jane's growing feelings for the dragon shifter, Caius.  She can't ignore the intense looks of lustful longing he gives her nor the way his handsome features make her blush.  There's no way she could have fallen so quickly for the sly dragon.  Could she?

Jane is a normal orphan with unusual grandparents. She doesn't realize how unusual until she returns on holiday from college to discover that her grandmother has been kidnapped. Her grandfather reveals that her kidnappers are a new foe from an old world, and her grandmother's only hope is for them to travel to the other side after her. The Shifting World, however, isn't as easy as ours. Every monster, witch, demon, and other mystical fable that haunts the fairytale books of our world resides among those lands. Jane finds herself stumbling through one adventure after another as she tries to learn the ropes, and the magic, of the new world in order to save her grandmother, and herself. Even a place as strange as the Shifting World, however, has its familiar handsome men. One of them is Caius, a dragon shifter with a sly smile and a glint in his eyes. He joins their search for her missing grandmother, but Jane isn't so sure it isn't another member of her family that he's interested in.

The deeper Jane delves into the Shifting World, the stronger her power to read objects grows. She finds herself facing another trial because of her ability, and this one leads her into more deadly peril than she's ever faced before. Her group is led to their new adventure by an ancient relic of the Shifting World, a revolver with a dark past. That past is revived with Jane's touch, but she unearths more than just visions. She becomes a part of those secrets as they trap her in the emotions of its long-dead memories. Those emotions fall on her lover, Caius, and a dreadful fear rises within her that something terrible will happen to one of them if they continue searching for the answers to the relic. While Jane and her friends find enough trouble with the revolver, they discover they aren't the only ones after its secrets. Soon they're trapped between two warring factions over the fate of the relic and their very lives.

The third novel in the three-part Angel Fable arc. Jane has been reunited with Caius, but the price was too high. Now she and her companions must race against a new foe to save one of their own before he does something unspeakable. Their chase leads them to the epicenter of the Librarian world, the Central Library, where all research knowledge is stored. There they find new allies and old foes that lead them through the Catacombs of Tomes and into a world of the darcane, the black magic of the Shifting World. They follow the trail and are led to a shadow that was once a city where the ghosts of the past stretch out their dark hands for salvation. The High Librarian has designs for those hands, and they need the power of a lumina to fulfill them.

The first novel in the three-part Angel Fable arc. Jane and her companions decide to enjoy the Shifting World for once, and find themselves fortunate to arrive in time for the Festival of Gad, a joyous time of celebration held every four years in honor of the prime deity of the world. Unfortunately, their vacation plans are burned to ashes when one of the ceremonies is lit aflame under suspicious circumstances. Worse still, Jane keeps seeing a man dressed not the plain clothes of the Shifting World, but in dark attire worn in our realm. He looks straight at her without blinking, and she has a creeping feeling that he can see more than what's on the surface. When she's confronted about the truth of his identity, her world gets a little more complicated, and dangerous. Now Jane and her companions must help stop a dark plan to lay waste to the festival, or die trying.

Jane and her friends are both heroes and outlaws. Their notoriety forces them to hide in the wilds of the north in the land where Caius grew up. The serenity of the wide steppes somehow compliments the brash nature of Jane's dragon shifter. Unfortunately, the quiet peace they seek is dashed soon after their arrival with the news that not only does Caius have a younger brother, but he's in trouble. One of the local leaders, Baron Volkov, has taken to his manor at the outer lands of the principality. They endeavor to rescue him, but find themselves surprised by a most unexpectedly warm greeting from the baron. However, all is not as it seems, as Jane's powers elude. Not all of the doors of the manor are open to them, and behind some of those locked portals lay terrible secrets. Ones that concern Caius, his curse, and his future. Now Jane must save her beloved dragon shifter from the clutches of a dark evil intent on using him, even if it costs him his life.

A short novella featuring one of the lesser adventures of Jane and her companions. Jane and company take a well-deserved break from adventuring when Reaper's Night comes to the Shifting World.  A celebration akin to Halloween, they join the revelers in donning harvest costumes to celebrate the end of the growing season. However, trouble brews on the darkening horizon as they're regaled with tales of monster hunting by the ancestor of their host.  Jane's keen senses and the hairs on the back of her neck tell her something is amiss.  When the time comes for the penultimate celebration the danger bursts into the light, as does a whole horde of monsters who fall over one another in their eagerness to tear the heroes apart. Now Jane and Caius must stop the curse of Reaper's Night before they're turned into monster chow.

The second novel in the three-part Angel Fable arc. Caius is gone, captured by the Blue Binds and taken to the secretive citadel of Casglade. Jane and her friends will stop at nothing to rescue him from that prison where no one has ever escaped and where only rumors can tell them about what lies behind the stone walls of that fortress. Love and persistence won't let Jane shy away from the unknown, and so they travel to the Blakishain Forest wherein lies the citadel. The companions find themselves confronted with dark secrets of suspicion, paranoia, and a terrible curse on all the inmates that brings Jane to doubt their journey. Hope, however, lingers on and as they fall deeper into the mysteries that pervade the prison they learn of their true enemy and the reason for their coming to the fortress. Unfortunately, getting inside was the easy part. Escaping will test the strength of their bonds as they confront the source of the evil that surrounds the citadel.

Jane's adventures have gained her many loyal allies and unique abilities, and both will be put to the test as she finds herself at the center of an eight hundred year old mystery.   The adventure starts with an urgent message from one of their old friends, the exorsage Gina von Corvinus, that brings them back to the edges of Perdico. Their friend informs them of troubles in the paradise of the Spiritus Academy, the training ground for the exorsages. A spirit has them stumped, and Gina wishes to try Jane's unique abilities against the fiend.   Jane reluctantly accepts, and they leave behind Caius and Sage for the women-only campus of the spirit defenders. There they find their elusive ghost, but matters aren't as easy as sending them on their way. They're bound to an oath made in life and won't leave until the job is finished. To make their job harder, there's something amiss in the administrative halls of the academy. Something that hides a dark secret that threatens to destroy anyone to get what it wants. Jane must fight to free the spirit, otherwise she may just lose her own.

For Jane, the cold winter of exile creeps up on her and her friends in their new abodes in Mechta. However, fate intervenes in the form of an offer of clemency from an old friend of Caius. The catch is they must earn their pardon by protecting the canta, a young woman of exceptional ability who must sing before the faithful of Gad at the Edict. They agree to the task and find themselves at one of the holiest cities of Gad, Sacratia. Though under the sanctuary of the canta, their troubles with the Blue Binds haven't ended and they soon find themselves clashing heads with their old foes. On top of old troubles, new problems arise in their role as protectors to the canta. Their protection becomes essential as their mysterious foe tries to stop the canta from performing, even if it means sending her for a personal performance before Gad himself. If they fail then it's the final curtain for all of them.

After many adventures Jane and her companions just want a relaxing vacation at one of the long beeches in the east. Unfortunately, fate has other plans in store for them as they meet an unusual boy on their way to the quaint seaside village. The boy is more than meets the eye, and they're not the only ones interested in him. Their old lumina companion Alex reappears and brings with him some unwelcome and demanding company. An opposing faction crawls out of the shadows and also tries to convince the gifted lad to go with them, leading to confrontations where Jane and her friends are stuck in the middle. To complicate matters, rumors exist of a witch of black magic who lives in a nearby cave. She is said to have a unique ability not unlike that possessed by Jane. They go in search of the mysterious hag, and Jane hopes that finally, after so long, she might find the answers she's looking for in finding her place in this strange new world.

Jane and the others have left behind the Island of Shadows, but they can't leave behind the lingering consequences. She now holds the magick of darkness within her, and slumbering as he is there is still danger in traveling with such a powerful companion.   That danger arrives on the heels of torrential rain and whipping winds. A storm for the ages traps them in a remote town where the locals cast suspicious glances at them. They soon learn that other outsiders have come with demands for the ancient automata harbored within their metalus mines.   One of the villagers, a young historian, takes a liking to them and offers them shelter in his tiny abode. There he regales them with tales of a mighty hero who protected the village many millennia ago. The other villagers ridicule his love of the past when their future is so perilous, but the historian assures them he has a plan. That plan involves Jane, and as the storm worsens and new foes arrive she finds herself caught in a web of lies and greed, a web in which she must break free, or die trying.

Fate and the Man In Black have led Jane to the Island of Shadows, a mysterious place shunned by the locals and surrounded by rumors of dark spells and ancient phantoms.   They are warned not to go to the island where the last master lost his mind in his efforts to achieve what Gad could not, but their date with the Man In Black forces them onto the rocky, barren place where no man treads. They find their host waiting for them, along with an old and unwelcome foe. The Man In Black presents them with a challenge, one last feat to prove Jane's worthiness: using the gift of the vidori they must scour the dark recesses of the castle and discover the truth about happened to the young master.   The task would be easier but for their adversary, a wily foe who is as intent at gaining the Man In Black's favor as Jane is loathed to earn it. The dark halls, too, hold tight to their secrets, and as they explore the silent passages they find that there is a third party playing the game. Someone seeks to keep the past hidden, even if that means deadly consequences for Jane and her friends.

Jane and her tired companions seek only refuge from a thick, mysterious fog, but someone has darker plans for them. Those plans lead them to the burnt-out remains of an old building complex where the past doesn't lie peacefully below the surface. Jane somehow feels drawn to the strange place with its air of dark mystery and is compelled to touch the ruins.   The next thing they know the charred remains vanish and they stand in the middle of a pristine garden. They're also surrounded by fox shifters bearing weapons and old-fashioned garb. A pointed question reveals that the group has been thrown back in time some one thousand years to just before the complex was destroyed.   As Jane learns more about the past and grows to care about the many lives under the roof of the grand house, she's faced with a daunting dilemma. The past has already been written, but might they rewrite those events? And if they change the past, what will happen to their future? Will they remain trapped in the past forever, or worse, cease to exist at all? And yet even with those dangers, can she stand by and watch so many kind souls perish in the tragedy that is destined to come?
