About this series
Joey’s a self-proclaimed life long bachelor. He’s content with his life and doesn’t need the love, marriage and happy ever after to be happy. He’s a playboy who doesn’t want to settle down with one woman. His job takes him all over the world and he’s met lots of women in many countries, but it’s when he goes home to small town Shelton to visit with his grandfather for a few weeks that he finds Megan, the most beautiful girl he’s ever met. Can Megan, the kind caring neighbour, break through the locks around Joey’s heart?
It’s been a long time since Megan has seen the teenage boy she once had a crush on, and he most definitely wasn’t the scrawny kid with shaggy hair and braces that she remembers. Joey’s changed, and not just physically. Gone is the geeky teenager and in his place is the strong, sexy, confident man of her dreams, the man that she can never have a future with.
With the shared care of Ed, Joey’s aging grandfather, the pair are drawn together and it isn’t long before a bond develops. When Joey’s protector instincts kick in and he takes steps to rid Megan of her life long tormentor things start to heat up between them. But is it enough to change Joey’s bachelor mindset, or is Megan destined to carry on alone?

All Flynn had ever known was life in the army, so when a night time mission goes horribly wrong and he is sent home he has to re-evaluate his life. Unable to deal with the loss of his best friend and some of his closest mates he seeks solitude in a mountain hideaway. He needs time to think, time to be alone and away from all the people who are worried about him. With his dog Max by his side, and a bottle of whisky in his hand, he seeks the one thing that has evaded him for months. Peaceful sleep. The last thing on Flynn’s mind was falling in love. He’d been burnt before and had vowed never to go there again, but when a mysterious girl lands on his doorstep he’s forced to reconsider his plans. Who is the girl all beaten and bruised? Where did she come from? Where was she going? One thing that Flynn did know was that she needed his help, but could he deliver? Could he be the man to save her and help her find the answers to the questions they both had, or would he let her down like he had done with his best friend? Will Flynn’s heart survive what was about to come? Could he let himself be happy and move on with his life? One person held the answers to all of Flynn’s questions, but would he let her into his life so she could help make him whole again?

Mac’s in a funk. He’s cranky, short tempered and snappy, and only he knows why. And he’s not about to tell anyone, not even his best friend and business partner Joey, the self-confessed bachelor and life long playboy, he wouldn’t understand. Hell, he’d probably pass out laughing. Was it normal for a guy to get all down because he was alone? Was it normal for a guy to think that his clock was ticking and he needed to find someone to love or he’d be alone forever? It was driving Mac to distraction. Nothing he did took his mind off the fact that he was lonely. Was it so bad that all he wanted was to find his happy ever after person? When the opportunity came up for Mac to take a two-month assignment he jumped at it. Some time away was just what he needed. What he didn't count on was falling for the target. He didn't count on falling for her or her kid. Instead of calling off the assignment Mac proceeds and before long he’s embedded himself in Rachel and Elliot's lives. But will the truth come back to bite him and ruin any chance of a relationship with the woman he’s fallen so desperately in love with? Is Mac taking a gamble on his and Rachel’s future by keeping the truth from her? But the big question, the one that Mac asks himself over and over again, will Rachel be able to see past the charade and give them all a chance at happiness?

Vicki Connellan
Vicki was born in Orange, NSW. When she was two years old her family moved to Dapto, a southern suburb of Wollongong. She was kicked out of pre-school at the age of four (for reasons that she will keep to herself). When she was sixteen she moved with her parents and two sisters (Vicki is the typically misunderstood middle child) to the ACT where, ironically she studied Child Care so she could work in a pre-school. Now, at the age of 45 she still lives in Canberra with her husband and three adult/teenage children. Vicki works full time (not in the child care industry!) and is an avid baker. She spends her time taxiing her kids around and baking cup cakes for all the kids who constantly fill the house. Vicki has always enjoyed writing and is now taking the time to put her stories to print. You can contact Vicki via email at vickiconnellanauthor@gmail.com with any questions or feedback on her book.
