About this series

From the moment Maddie buried her parents, she was alone. No close family, no siblings, no aunts, uncles, cousins, no one. The only blood relative she had left was a half-brother who didn't know she existed.

Maddie had already decided to look for her half-brother, but when she is stripped of her virginity in a brutal rape, she goes on the run. The man who raped her has other plans for her, and she doesn't want any part of it. After months of hiding out, she heads to Allenby, the hometown of her half brother.

One thing Maddie doesn't expect to find in Allenby is love.

Riley Webb has returned to town for good. After ten years of being on the road with his band, it’s time to hang up his guitar and settle down. Only thing is, he has no one to settle down with…until he meets Maddie. She’s the one. Riley knows it, now he just needs to break down the walls that Maddie has built around herself, and make her see it too. Can Riley convince Maddie that she’s found home, or will the secrets from her past catch up with her and force her to move on?

Tyler Gamble has been searching for his true love for years. He’s been searching for the girl who makes his lips tingle when she kisses him, like the way his lips felt when he kissed Natalie Hogan back in high school. There had been a few girls over the years, but none of them were right. They didn't make his pulse race, they didn't make his heart pound, but most of all, they didn't make his lips tingle. He’s starting to think that he’ll never find the girl for him, until Natalie came back into his life after ten long years and a stolen kiss on the sidewalk changes everything. The only trouble is, to Natalie Hogan, Tyler is a player. He’s the one who humiliated her and stole her teenage years. Could he win her trust again and make her see that its not a game, that this time he’s playing for keeps, or is it too big a gamble for Natalie to take?

Cam never pictured himself as a father, but when he opens the door to find a baby on his doorstep, and no mother in sight, he doesn't have a choice. His apartment is already packed, ready for his move back to his hometown of Allenby so he can care for his grandmother who is fighting a battle with dementia. The transfer to his new station is already in place, and now he has to factor a one year old into the mix. But the fact that he has zero experience with babies doesn't deter Cam. She’d raised him from the age of four and now it was his turn to care for her, but will the disease that has ravaged her brain be more than he can handle? She’s not the same woman that she was when he last saw her, and that alone causes Cam to second-guess his ability to care for his family. Marty hasn’t had much luck with men lately. She’s the only one of her friendship group to not have a husband or a long-term boyfriend, something that is starting to wear a bit thin with her. That doesn't mean that Marty will settle for second best. She’s after her Mr Right. Her upcoming holiday will be the perfect opportunity to find some love, and she’s hoping for a little bedroom action at the same time. When Marty intervenes to stop Penny’s abusive home care nurse, her and Cam’s worlds are destined to collide, but at what cost? Can they both survive what life throws at them and remain friends, or could they be more?

It’s been ten years since Clover and Zeke have seen each other, and a lot’s happened in that time. Neither are the naïve teenagers they once were, especially Clover. She’s been through more than her fair share of heartache, and Zeke has too, but when circumstance force them together, can they come to a resolve on their past? For Clover, all the old feelings come rushing back. The thought of having Zeke back in her life after all these years is one thing, to find out that the past was all a lie, is another. Clover needs to decide if she can forgive Zeke for the past ten years, or if she’s happy to leave things as they are. Daisy, Clover’s ever insightful grandmother, has other ideas. She believes the two are meant to be together, and much to Clover’s disgust, she’ll do whatever she can to help, even if that means giving advice on more intimate matters. While Detective Zeke Rafferty struggles to deal with his mother’s lies, and all that he has missed over the past ten years, he vows to win Clover back and have the life that they should have had all along. The only thing standing in his way is the murder investigation, where all fingers point to Clover. Before he can win her heart, and have her back in his life for good, he must first prove her innocence, and his mother’s guilt. For Zeke, it’s a bittersweet time. To have the woman that he loves, he has to let go of the idea of having a loving mother in his life, something that he’d all but given up on a long time ago. Can Clover and Zeke reconnect after all these years, or is the history they share bound to tear them even further apart?

Vicki Connellan

Vicki was born in Orange, NSW. When she was two years old her family moved to Dapto, a southern suburb of Wollongong. She was kicked out of pre-school at the age of four (for reasons that she will keep to herself).   When she was sixteen she moved with her parents and two sisters (Vicki is the typically misunderstood middle child) to the ACT where, ironically she studied Child Care so she could work in a pre-school. Now, at the age of 45 she still lives in Canberra with her husband and three adult/teenage children.   Vicki works full time (not in the child care industry!) and is an avid baker. She spends her time taxiing her kids around and baking cup cakes for all the kids who constantly fill the house.    Vicki has always enjoyed writing and is now taking the time to put her stories to print.  You can contact Vicki via email at vickiconnellanauthor@gmail.com with any questions or  feedback on her book.  If you enjoyed the book please take the time to leave a quick review.
