About this series
The average pregnancy last for nine months, but the woman knows the time of her delivery because of the birth pains. Once she goes into labour it is but a short step to the birth of her long-awaited baby. And so it shall be, said Jesus, concerning the last days. The incubation period may taken some time, but the generation that experiences labor pains will also witness the debut of the prophesied antichrist.
The Bible tells us that "the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time" (Rom. 8:22) as the Coming of the Lord is awaited with eager anticipation. Famines — diseases — earthquakes — and disasters will increase in intensity and number as we come closer to the end of the Church Age. The parallel passage in Luke 21:10 expands on the words of Jesus: "There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven."
It is later than we think.

- Politics and the Return of Christ
Nuclear storms clouds are threatening to destroy our world as the nations prepare themselves for the Great Battle of Armageddon. We are living in one of the most exciting periods of this world's history. Time, as we know it, is rapidly drawing to a close as the coming of the Lord draws near. All over the world people are aware that something is happening. This is the age of fulfillment of Bible prophecy and discerning believers see the signs everywhere. Our local newspapers and television bear testimony to that fact daily. Before 1900 very few commentaries were written on prophetical books like Daniel and Revelation. It was not easy in those days to understand, for example, how something lodged in the human body would enable a person to "buy and sell" (Rev. 13:16,17) — or the possibility of the whole world simultaneously viewing an event in Jerusalem (Rev. 11:9-12). The Old Testament prophet, Daniel, wrote that end-time prophecy would be more clearly understood as knowledge increases in the last days and it is an exciting fact. "But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased — for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end." (Dan. 12:4,9 KJV). As historical events unfold THE SIGNS OF THE TIMES are evident for all who will see. Paul wrote in 1 Thess. 5:4 "But you, brothers, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief." The Lord Jesus Christ put it this way: "And when these things begin to come to pass, then LOOK UP, and lift up your heads, for your redemption draweth nigh." (Luke 21:28). The prophesied Global Government, Global Economic System and Global Religion are forming before our eyes. The prophesied Global Government, Global Economic System and Global Religion are forming before our eyes. "Politics and the Return of Christ" takes a challenging look at modern events in the light of Bible prophecy relating to the Second Coming of Christ. The nations are rushing to Armageddon.
- Prophecy and the Return of Christ
It is estimated that there are more than three hundred prophecies in the Bible concerning the first coming of Christ — and about eight times as many concerning His Second Coming. The New Testament mentions it at least 318 times in 210 chapters and there can be no doubt that saints throughout the ages have always "looked for His appearing." This is no new doctrine dreamed up by some feverish theological brain. Even that Old Testament saint, Enoch — just seven generations from Adam — looked way beyond his time and prophesied concerning the Second Coming of Christ. This godly man, who walked so close to the Lord that he just walked right into His Presence one day (Gen. 5:24), said: "Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints” (Jude verse 14 KJV). The inspired Scriptures tell us that the Lord Jesus Christ will return personally. "This same Jesus” (Acts 1:11) will come again in a literal and visible manner. Genuine Christians will be the first to meet Him. "Prophecy and the Return of Christ" takes a closer look at some of these prophecies.
- Religion and the Return of Christ
Religious deception, the Lord told His disciples, would be very prevalent in the end times. The devil is the master of deception. He watches closely everything the Lord does and tries to counterfeit it. "And no wonder, for satan himself masquerades as an angel of light" (2 Cor. 11:14). We can expect him to make every attempt to produce false signs that will draw people away from God. He has been in the counterfeiting business from the beginning of time. Satan's master trick is to deceive people and to send them out to deceive hundreds and thousands — and even millions — of beautiful people for whom Christ died. "Blind leaders of the blind",Jesus called them, adding that "both shall fall into the ditch" (Matt. 15:14). "Watch out," said Jesus, "that no one deceives you!" "False Christs" and "False Prophets" are a major sign of the End Times and the Return of Christ.
- Israel and the Return of Christ
Every time we pick up the newspaper, or hear the news on TV and radio, we find ourselves observing the fulfilment of prophecy firsthand, especially with regard to Israel. We have become so used to "watching the fig tree budding" that we that we do not always realize the significance of what is happening globally. Well has it been said that Israel is God's prophetic clock. When we observe her closely, then we can see what God is doing in our world and how close the Coming of Jesus is. The "fig tree" is beginning to show signs of new life in our generation. The evidence is literally shouting at us. Peace still seems as fragile as ever as Israel struggles with internal problems and re-elections. The Bible tells us that there will be a "peace agreement" signed with antichrist himself. This seven-year treaty will also be broken by him, resulting in greatest battle ever fought — the Battle of Armageddon — which culminates in Coming of the Lord to rescue Israel. The fig tree is budding ... in our generation. The nations have an appointment with the Lord at Armageddon.
- Days of Noah and the Return of Christ
Humanistic man believes he does not need God and so we see Biblical commands ignored and brushed aside as "goody good," restricting man's character and doing him irreparable harm! Anything God says in His Word that must not even be contemplated, is being encouraged and, if possible, legalized — pornography, euthanasia, abortion, sexual activity outside of marriage, adultery — you name it. A flood of filth is sweeping our world, and it will result in our world being swept away! Jesus said the end-time generation would result in behavior paralleling that of Noah's day. People lived their lives in Noah's Day totally oblivious to the fact that time was running out for them. And suddenly the floods came and there was no escape. "So also will the coming of the Son of Man be", said Jesus in the Mount of Olives.
- Revival and the Return of Christ
Our God reigns! He has never lost control of His creation. He is the only omnipotent (all-powerful), omniscient (all-knowing) and omnipresent (all-present) One. God's Word and His Gospel will be preached in this world, regardless of men's efforts to stamp out the very mention of the Name of Jesus. The God Who holds the keys of life and death said so! The Gospel of Jesus Christ is making great inroads in this generation. Reports are coming in all the time as thousands turn to the Lord in the Eastern Bloc, Russia, China, and places where the Gospel has been banned. The Lord promised to pour out His Spirit on men, women and children in the End Times and we can see the results globally. The media may not share the revival, but God is building His Church. "Revival and the Return of Christ" shares some of these stories. For the first time in history, the Gospel is literally available globally due to 21st century technology.
