When Graphic Designer Remi Painter gets a freelance logo design job, he is initially thrilled. But when his logo specifications include suspicious requirements and a warning that any talk of the matter will precede dire consequences, Remi is thrust into a tireless search for clues, which leads to signs of illegal inter-corporate ties and dangerous motives of global proportions. Will Remi survive the search or will his design ultimately kill?

After a brief vacation, Graphic Designer Remi Painter starts working for the Hunger House, a homeless shelter in downtown York, PA, refining their website under a tight deadline for chump change and feeding the community in his off time. But when he finds remnants of human remains in a dumpster behind the nonprofit headquarters after serving, Remi’s random observation is called into question. To prove his innocence, Remi begins to snoop around, discovers problems within the Hunger House, and sets into motion a series of seemingly unrelated events in the days that follow. Can Remi track down the killer and help restore order and justice or will evil prevail?

Freelance graphic designer Remi Painter is fresh off of another close brush with death. To re-focus, he enters a design contest that promises some notice and a cash award. He shows to the event, where he expects to receive the coveted honor. Remi hopes that his story of persistence in the field and quality competition, despite his condition, epilepsy, will inspire those in attendance. Just as Remi is preparing to accept his honor and tell his story, however, he has one of the worst seizures he's ever had. Instead of waking to an expectant audience, he awakens to a nightmare, where the attendees are also on the floor next to him, either injured or dead. As rumors of terrorism spread, so also does speculation of a hijacking, and talk of other technicalities tied to the contest. Can Remi defeat postictal exhaustion, sift through the lies of the press, and pinpoint specific details about the tragic evening, to restore a semblance of honor to those lost, and in time to save the living?

After years behind bars, Thor resolves to get out. But as the latest inmate to attempt the most recent high profile prison break from PA’s York County Prison, he again is faced with his curse. Just feet from freedom, he has an epileptic seizure, and is caught by the guards. Even so, in the ensuing days, he refuses to give up information regarding the design to escape. That same week, Graphic Designer Remi Painter visits the prison to look into a teaching opportunity. However, even before he completes the classroom tour, the warden tells him there has been a change in plan. Remi, also afflicted by epilepsy, will do what interrogators cannot: relate to Thor and obtain clues he has yet to release. Remi succeeds, but is confused when the warden brings the talks to a halt. Emotionally invested, Remi seeks answers, but soon finds out he’s learned too much. With the help of his friends, he will attempt to escape those who want him silenced, and uncover the secrets that may or may not save him from peril.

Barely escaping a heavy seizure during a local bomb scare in York, Pa, along with his friends, Marshall and Lela Houston and Jethro Silva, Graphic Designer Remi Painter allows himself some time to recover and enjoy his newly-acquired design honor before pursuing more freelance work. Just when Remi deems himself ready, however, Ray Townsend, old friend and a force to be reckoned with in the national fantasy football arena, shows an emotional wreck, accused of murdering a fantasy teammate over a bad trade. Before he knows it, Remi is thrust into a fantasy underworld comprised of players who will do anything to win. Can Remi overcome the power struggle or will he succumb to forces far greater than he?

Looking back on his career, freelance graphic designer Remi Painter is proud of his many contributions. Proud that he’s sorted through so many mysteries and survived so many threats to his life. And done so with his loyal friends Marshall and Lela Houston, and genius buddy Jethro Silva. There are occasional days, however, he wonders how life without epilepsy might have gone. Whether it would have been quite the fight. For that matter, whether it is time to try something new. What if a treatment for epilepsy already exists out there somewhere? It's an innocent question, a deep longing for Remi and many others with seizures. Until the day he happens upon a remedy no one is meant to discover. What would a cure mean for Remi and the epilepsy community? Would it be a blessing or a curse? Will he live long enough to find out?
