Far out in space, in another galaxy, is a planet called Chrystalina. This peaceful planet is much like Earth. It has trees, flowers and food producing plants. Its animals include relatives of our dogs, cats and birds. Its people live in houses, mostly one story dwellings, and move around their planet in wheeled vehicles, resembling our cars and buses which run on solar power. But here the technological thirst ends. For this planet hearkens back to the earlier days of Earth, before people became too dependent on technology to run their lives. Simplicity and hard work are looked upon as virtues worth preserving. Also in this star system is a planet called Jerico. This planet is the most advanced in this system, giving them a great advantage over the other planets. Unfortunately, the novelty of their ever advancing technology has ceased to be enough for the people of this planet. Now Jerico has become a very aggressive and power hungry planet, with only one wish...TO RULE THE GALAXY. And it has been decided that their first conquest will be the least likely to rebel against them...CHRYSTALINA. All is not lost for there is a power on Chrystalina which could serve as a ray of hope for this planet of peaceful existence. The power comes from an emerald Amulet which has been handed down from generation to generation. Each group of chosen ones has its own specific destiny. So it has fallen to the chosen ones who now hold the Amulet to use its power and succeed in saving the planet from Jerico's clutches. This, admittedly, is a lot to believe in, for there are only eight in this small group. And the title which all guardians of the Amulet are christened with is fitting, for they are only... - The Children Of The Amulet: Book 2 - Battle Of The Empire

Earth’s technology was taking over. We needed to find a new place to start again, without all the ongoing technological advances that plagued our former world. We called this new place Chrystalina. Just after we settled on the planet a small portion of our group decided that they could not live with the little technology that we had agreed to use. Eventually they left to find another place to settle. They called it Jerico. Fearing that mankind’s natural instinct to create and upgrade tools would take over Jerico as it had Earth, we took what little technology we had and built a hidden and protected security system. In a vote I, Chrystal Bradford, the leaders of the colonization team, was to be the model for a computer generated person who would help the future inhabitants in the event they would need this system. Before we left Earth, my grandmother gave me one half of an Emerald Amulet which became a source of great power and began a legacy and a responsibility to protect our new world from any conflict that should threaten it. Four centuries later, long after the last of my generation died, eight children received the Amulet and it’s powers. It had been foretold that they would be sent on a dangerous quest, the purpose being to defend our planet against the return of the now vast Jerico Empire. This event uncovered many secrets long left untold. The children found the security system, and with cooperation and my help also found the missing half of the Amulet which was owned by the twin teenaged heirs of the Jerico Empire. This discovery and consequent meeting of the Chrystalinian and Jerico children, resulted in an understanding of peaceful existence between our two planets and the unspoken alliance between the new and old... - The Children Of The Amulet: Book 3 - Hope and Victory
3
It started when it was foretold that eight children would become the protectors of the planet Chrystalina and the guardians of the special powers of the Amulet. What was not revealed was that the Amulet was not whole and that fact alone would have a great affect on the future. As it had also been foretold the planet Jerico came to invade and conquer Chrystalina. With the invasion two other children, who had just become the guardians of the Amulet and its powers, were revealed and those two newcomers were to become the rulers of the powerful Jerico Empire. The guardianship of the Amulet created a bond between the ten guardians and an unspoken alliance between the two planets. As a result of this alliance the children of Jerico stopped the attack and called a retreat, intending to leave Chrystalina in peace. Peace was not lasting, however. A rebellion against the children of Jerico, now the Emperor and Empress, was declared. The two children called desperately to the children of Chrystalina for help. Together the ten children fought to defeat the rebellion but it was too strong and eventually they concluded that for the moment staying on Jerico would be fatal. But the rebellion no longer wanted to chase the young rulers away, they wanted them out of the way for good. After a near fatal escape, the arrival of a couple of additions to this small family of guardians and several twists of fate not only turned the tables on the Rebellion but created an even stronger bond among the protectors of the two worlds. The Rebellion was sent on the run. But is having the enemy in hiding any less dangerous to the... Children Of The Amulet
