    Sand gets everywhere and when it finds its way into Roy’s bed it sets in motion an expedition to the Dead Zone to search for his missing, presumed-dead father. However, before he sets off there is time for some humorous misadventures into foreign climes aboard Earth Station Three.

    Meet a new addition to the group, the straight talking and foul-mouthed Daz. He was asked to leave the SAS for being too aggressive and then likewise fails as a space pilot. Dr. D’Eath encounters him, when he attacks the station looking to kill Roy. Unfortunately he tries to intimidate Daz, which doesn’t end well for him. Daz in turn, is intimidated by Roy’s mum who packs a mean punch when berating Daz for his fruity language.

    Soon our unlikely bunch of heroes set off in a new souped-up ship, The Artois, to the brave the unknown perils of the Dead Zone in the search for Roy’s father. Against the odds they find and rescue him, but at an unexpected cost, and then Roy is shocked to discover that he now has a sister. As is his mum.

    Using 80,000 odd words, most of them in the right order and many of them rude, we elucidate this often funny romp through the galaxy in the quest to find Roy’s father.

      Beyond Uranus is the first of a trilogy of four or more books telling the ripping space yarns and illuminating times of an always late to work teacher and heroic on-line gamer. The wrong kind of life, in the wrong kind of job, leads Roy to emotionally subsist on lager, pizza and on-line gaming. A fantastical opportunity presents him with a chance to boldly go, where others have trod before. Joining the crew of a mysterious Earth Station, Roy becomes a space pilot working for the galactic ‘UN’ shielding the Earth from an inappropriate first contact. With a group of friends and an extraordinary personal computer he explores forbidden areas of the Station and excessively discovers that an alcohol ban doesn’t cover the whole of it. Meanwhile, rogue pilot Dr. John D’Eath has iniquitous plans to kill Roy but is thrown off the station when his plot to frame him for an attack backfires. And Roy finds the love of his life when he meets a beautiful red-head and loves the tinge of ginge in her. One day Roy attempts to shunt a mysterious freighter away from Earth and his indestructible ship is promptly destroyed, with himself being captured. Rescue comes from the person he least expects, which leads to him discover some shocking, hidden truths. Some 85,000 words help tell this humorous tale, peppered with bar-room philosophy and sprinkled with adult language.

News of his exploits in the Dead Zone have spread throughout the galaxy and there are those who need his help. Part of his deal with Nev of the Dead Zone was to find Zak from the ‘Kidz Alright’ and to get him to do a gig in exchange for the release of all their prisoners. With both Zak and Nev aboard the Artois there is a final showdown with Dr. D’Eath and Roy uses the Architect’s T.I.T.S. to thwart him, or was it his T.W.A.T? And so the opening three books of our trilogy are done.
