Description

Join Rabbi Amitai Fraiman, our podcast host and head of Z3, as he delves into a fascinating discussion with Luc Bernard, video game developer turned consultant on Holocaust education.

Luc is the director of The Light in the Darkness, the first videogame about the Holocaust on PS5, PS4 and on the Epic Games Store, and also created a virtual Holocaust museum within the popular online game Fortnite. Together, they explore the potential of gaming platforms in fostering empathy and relationship-building, particularly within the context of Holocaust education, by putting players in the shoes of characters. They discuss importance of bringing education to young people where they are and how leveraging digital platforms can aid that goal. Their conversation also touches on the limitations of traditional museum exhibits and the potential of digital platforms to make stories more accessible. All this and more in this episode.

The Z3 Podcast is an outgrowth of the Z3 Conference. This is a home for the dialogue between Diaspora and Israeli Jews, where we can create a common ground of connection and understanding. In a time of uncertainty and disconnection, this podcast is meant to be a public square where diverse viewpoints can come together to discuss, debate, and delve into the topics we care most about while still maintaining our humanity and community.
