We talked about the recent press release of the Environmental Sustainability Index. The index is the first quarterly indicator of key trends pertaining to global efforts in climate change mitigation and other sustainability initiatives.A link to the full findings is in the comments section and the show note. In summary, the key takeaway from the index include: 90% of respondents are generally optimistic about overall success with prior twelve-month goals across sustainability categories including energy evolution and efficiency, emissions reduction, pollution prevention and circularity/recycling.Forward-looking perceptions are less confident, with just 67% of respondents being optimistic about achieving goals for the coming twelve months.Only 63% are optimistic about achieving their goals by 2030, an anchor deadline year for numerous commitments. It was an interesting conversation and the purpose behind this initiative is to - as Evan explains - get behind the headlines and look at what’s really being done to meet the anchor deadline year of 2030 for ESG targets. Some facts about Evan: In 2022 he was named by Constellation Research as one of the world's 50 most influential executives in the field of ESG, and also to the American Energy Society's 500 Global Sustainability Thought Leaders.
