Held in a notorious petrostate, the United Arab Emirates, 200 countries agreed to begin a phase out of fossil fuels by 2050. also raises the issue of climate activists being targeted with lawsuits, RICO charges and jail time in the Global North, while land and climate defenders in the Global South face torture and murder.
