Haley Plaas is a PhD student in the School of Public Health at the University of North Carolina.

She talks about the increase of harmful algal blooms across the U.S. and how nutrient pollution and warmer water from climate change are major factors. Haley explains her research on the potential aerosolization of toxins from algal blooms that she is conducting along the North Carolina coast.
