According to the Cavs, Larry Nance Jr. is on track to play Friday. That should be a really good thing for the Cavs. As for Kevin Love and Darius Garland, it sounds less likely that they'll be back against the Pelicans.
The Cavs' defense has altered between good and bad this year, almost to an extreme degree. But what is real and what isn't? All that seems secure is that Isaac Okoro and Jarrett Allen are good defenders to build a defense with.
Speaking of Okoro, he's taken little steps forward on offense this year, but still feels like a major work in progress on that end of the floor. It doesn't seem likely he can change that reality before the end of the season.
As for Darius Garland, he arguably has the most to prove of ny member of the Cavs. If Collin Sexton is as locked into the team's plans as we seem to think, how does Garland fit into those plans? Can he have a second half of the season that can get him to a place where the Cavs lock him into the core too?
