Missouri woman Grace Holland fell in love with Fire Captain Robert Daus and they began to make a life together.  They were engaged and had blended their families together.  Grace and Robert had just purchased a new home together in 2020 and were making preparations to move in.

Things were not what they appeared on the surface.  Robert was allegedly verbally and emotionally abusive to Grace.  Court documents show angry and abusive texts that Robert sent to her and he allegedly offered her money to abort their baby.

Nobody knows what happened in the hours leading up to July 22, 2020.  That morning,  Grace died from a gunshot wound to the head.  It was eventually determined by authorities to have been self-inflicted, although her family have always thought otherwise.

Robert moved on after Grace’s death and he became involved with a successful doctor, Sarah Sweeney.  In January 2023,  Sarah was found dead in the home that Robert and Grace had previously purchased.  Her cause of death is currently pending.
