Ever since I became WINMI's sole host and producer, I have wanted to have an acting teacher on this podcast. Well, it certainly took long enough, but that time has finally come. Terry Knickerbocker has been guiding students for almost 30 years, having trained and taught with William Esper, one of the most respected protégés of Sanford Meisner. And The Terry Knickerbocker Studio is this month's featured Artist Resource.

You can find a full list of artist resources at resources.whyillnevermakeit.com.

The studio has four primary objectives when it comes to their actor training, and Terry and I will be touching on these topics throughout today’s episode:

To provide students with tools and a process for creating authentic imaginative acting.

To cultivate uncompromising Standards of craftsmanship and artistry.

To empower students to embrace the full range of their unique humanity.

To support students with the entrepreneurial skills needed to be a successful working actor.

The actor’s journey is one of occasional highs and frequent lows. It is a path riddled with self-doubt and frustration as we question our career choices, wondering if we’ll ever really ”make it.” But even still, those few moments of glory onstage or onscreen can sustain us through ALL the setbacks and challenges. On this award-winning podcast, New York actor Patrick Oliver Jones invites fellow creatives to share stories of failure and persistence in the performing arts. It’s a behind-the-scenes look at the creative life rarely seen in the glitz and glam of this industry and reminds us we’re not alone in this long and winding journey.
