Alright, alright, I hear ya. You want more episodes about arcade games. Your wish is my command, and this week we're talking about one of the biggest, most iconic arcade cabs of all-time. The cabinet that saved Nintendo of America and kickstarted the legendary career of Shigeru Miyamoto. We're talking Donkey Kong.
Admittedly, I've spent more time with the NES port of this game than the arcade version, but a classic is a classic. That first level with the pink construction beams, the barrels, and that Mario guy is among the most recognizable screens in gaming. To this day, I can't walk by this cabinet without dropping a little change. Who doesn't love Donkey Kong?
You know who definitely doesn't doesn't love Donkey Kong? My buddy Chris. We had a great chat about one of the most legendary video games of all-time, and looked at the sequels and stuff as well. I love this franchise, I love this game, and I like this podcast.
And before we go back to 1981, I put together another edition of the Infamous Intro!
This week, someone asks if they NEED to play the OG Final Fantasy VII before diving into Remake/Rebirth this year. Is anyone else as done with crafting in games as we are? And why do I always say "keep the bills on"? (The answer is lame).
Plus we play another round of 'Play One, Remake One, Erase One', too! This one features 3 classic Nintendo cabs: Popeye, Mario Bros, and Donkey Kong Jr.
