Description

Today’s show is about finding purpose and meaningful ways of moving forward. So many people do amazing things after their cancer diagnosis and it can sometimes feel as if we’re not doing enough just because we don’t climb high mountains or raise thousands of pounds for charity.Well, my two guests on today’s show have gone on and done incredibly worthy things! But they are also wonderfully reflected and wise and helpful in what they are sharing. Today’s episode is filling us all with a portion of positivity. Today’s show is about finding purpose and meaningful ways of moving forward.Sara Liyanage has written two books: After Breast Cancer: A Recovery Handbook and Ticking Off Breast Cancer. The online resources she writes can be found here: Information Hub on Future Dreams Charity website. Stephanie Davis has set up the not-for-profit Life After Cancer organisation who offer peer support groups and a 6-week coaching programme - https://www.life-aftercancer.co.uk/eventsHere's a link to their online hub which includes some coaching exercises to support individual post cancer to move forward - https://www.life-aftercancer.co.uk/online-hubHere is the Japanese Concept of Ikigai Steph mentioned on the show: https://savvytokyo.com/ikigai-japanese-concept-finding-purpose-life/ About Dani:The Menopause and Cancer Podcast is hosted by Dani Binnington, menopause guide, patients advocate for people in menopause after a cancer diagnosis, and founder of the online platform Healthy Whole Me. There is lots of information out there about the menopause but hardly any if you have had a cancer diagnosis as well. Many people say to me they have no idea what their options are, who to ask for help, and that they feel really isolated in their experiences. I started this podcast because there was nothing out there when I was thrown into surgical menopause at the age of 39, which followed on from my cancer diagnosis aged 33.Through the episodes, I want to create more awareness, share information from our fabulous guest experts, doctors and other specialists in the cancer and menopause field. And of course, I will share stories from the people in our community. So that together we can work towards a better menopause experience. For all of us.More educated, better informed and less alone.Connect with Dani:Instagram @healthywholeme  Facebook: @healthywholeme  Join Dani’s private Facebook group:

Has cancer treatment led you to early menopause? Do you feel confused about your options? This podcast hosts conversations with cancer patients, survivors and medical professionals to learn about treatments available for women with a cancer diagnosis.  I’m Dani Binnington, after breast cancer, surgery to remove my ovaries led me to early menopause, I had no idea what my treatment options were and who in my medical team could help me figure out what to do about my symptoms. I felt alone and unsupported. It took me so long to discover I had lots of options too. If only I’d known sooner! Everything I wish I’d known back then is inside these conversations - so you can make the right choices now.  These episodes are a good place to start: 1. Rethinking Tamoxifen & Aromatase Inhibitors  2. Why I decided to take HRT after an oestrogen driven cancer 2. Alcohol & Me Menopause and cancer is also a thriving community online and in real life.  Join the Facebook community to connect with women going through the same thing you are: https://www.facebook.com/groups/menopauseandcancerchathub
