Description

Welcome to the Beyond the Scope Podcast presented by ND MD. This podcast continues the mission of sharing the incredible stories and experiences of students, physicians, and healthcare professionals...but this time it's all about the things all those years of medical training doesn't prepare you for. Things that are beyond the scope of our practice. Whether it's navigating starting a family as a medical student or physician, or learning how to invest as a student, the goal is to bring on incredible guests who can guide you through those puzzling questions. Today we have Wesley Walters, a fellow student of the Medical College of Georgia Class of 2024 and author of the children's book "The Virus That Came to Town".

"The Virus That Came To Town is a Children's book that showcases a family's response during a viral pandemic. Monica, Marshall, and their family struggle to escape a virus that comes to town until the doctor and savior of the day give them simple tips to follow in order to kick the virus out of town! The goal of the book is to educate communities on social health practices that can help 'kick the virus out of town' during a global pandemic like the one we find ourselves in!"

Listen to how Wesley rewrote the definition for what publications look like in medical school and how his experience throughout the publication process made him a better medical student and future physician! Learn more and order his book at thevirusthatcametotown.com
