Hello listeners, we are back another week and this time we had a conversation with Ashley Nell Tipton.
You may have heard of Ashley when she made history after becoming the first designer to win Project Runway with a final collection designed for plus-size women.
Ashley was born and raised in San Diego, California. The youngest of four children she had an early passion for fashion. Ashley learned to sew on her grandmother’s sewing machine when she was just seven years old.
One of her goals is to help full figured women feel good in what they wear and she hopes to be “THE” Full Fashion Designer. She understands what plus women want and would like to give curvy girls a chance to show their style with chic edginess.
Ashley says: “I pictured my muse roaming the streets of Paris unabashed and feeling confident in their stride while wearing designs that are not seen in full figure fashions today. The finished line is filled with bold colors and finesse… just like me!”
This one is a lengthy one, Ashley truly dives deep into her story and shares the criticism she's had to face from her family to people in social media, while creating her brand and also having so many women look up to her for being the first contestant to ever create a plus size women collection in Project Runway.
