Description

Oh my listeners, Maya's story is full of lessons. This week we had a conversation with Maya Miles, a business owner in Houston Texas.
WARNING: Maya shares her sexual assault story. Feel free to skip this episode if this is something that may trigger you.
We originally planned to talk about DACA and her experience, and then as Maya shared her story with us, we started unpacking different chapters of her life in which her perseverance took her one step further to get to where she is now.
The conversation was so full of information, I couldn't interrupt for the coffee break. Thank you Juan (Episode 44) for the delicious Colombian coffee.
This episode was recorded before DACA got canceled, so during the introduction, I share the 5 things we need to know about DACA now according to United We Dream (weareheretostay.org)
Maya is currently in Houston and she's working on helping survivors of Hurricane Harvey. Sending lots of love to everyone in the world who is going through the effects of a natural disaster.
Let me know what you think about this episode and share it with a friend!
