Description

Chris Richmond recently retired from a 25 year career in public service.  From 2013 to 2019, he was the Fire Marshall for the City of Springfield, Illinois.  In this capacity, he focused on community risk reduction utilizing an open collaborative approach with elected officials and community leaders on a daily basis.  Chris continues to emphasize public safety by spearheading "Moving Pillsbury Forward"--a group of community volunteers seeking to ameliorate the Pillsbury Brownfield site and its deleterious effects in the community.  Presenting with Chris is Mary Frances, whose work and art are featured in podcast episode #75.  For more information about Chis, Mary and the "Moving Pillsbury Forward" group, please see their website: https://movepillsburyforward.wixsite.com/movepillsburyforward For more information about Brownfield sites in general, please see the U.S.EPA publication here:https://www.epa.gov/brownfields
