The Dodgers made a flurry of moves on Monday starting with a trade with the Yankees to free up space for the official signings of Joe Kelly and Shohei Ohtani. In the trade, the Dodgers sent Victor González and Jorbit Vivas to New York for prospect Trey Sweeney. The biggest news came from Ohtani's side though as it's been reported that he is deferring $68M of the $70M a year he was set to make. This is huge for Dodgers' payroll but also for luxury tax purposes. It also helps Ohtani a bit in the long run. Kelly's signing was also made official and his family announced that he will wear No. 99 in 2024.
