After a record breaking rookie campaign at Baylor that saw him be named a Freshman All-American, Richard Reese endured a much different role in the Bears offense in 2023. A role where he barely touched the ball. In playing the same of games as he did his freshman season, Reese got 132 less carries, 666 (yikes) fewer yards, and 12 less touchdowns in his sophomore compared to his stellar first campaign, all while averaging only .3 yards per rush less in 2023.
Given a bigger role in the offense, there is reason to believe he could've challenged his 972 yards in 2022 and possibly became the 16th 1,000 yard rusher in program history.
Now, Richard Reese is staying at Baylor. That's a big win for this staff.
