Dave Aranda is still the head football coach at Baylor University and now will be calling the defense himself, demoting first-year defensive coordinator Matt Powledge, and will be shopping for a new offensive coordinator.
Aranda, a highly regarded defensive coordinator, took over the head coaching position at Baylor in January 2020. Prior to joining Baylor, he had an impressive coaching career, notably serving as the defensive coordinator for the LSU Tigers during their national championship-winning season in 2019.
Known for his strategic defensive acumen, Aranda brought his expertise to the Baylor Bears program with the aim of furthering its success. His coaching philosophy emphasized a strong defensive presence and a commitment to player development.
