Description

The spooky movie season continues as Isaac and Cameron dive into the 80's! Join us in exploring the horror classic "A Nightmare on Elm Street" (1984), directed by Wes Craven. Set in a small town, a group of teenagers is haunted by the vengeful spirit of Freddy Krueger (played by Robert Englund), who terrorizes and preys on them in their dreams, blurring the lines between reality and the surreal. Isaac and Cameron discuss the mixed reception of horror as a genre, and how the experience might have a difficult sigma for audiences. Can this old spooky movie hold up to a modern viewer or is it too difficult for baby Isaac to handle?

An ECFS Productions Original Podcast: Cinema Spectator is a film history podcast that takes away the pretense that usually comes along with learning about film. Each week, we tackle a "classic" of film history but do these films actually hold up for a modern audience? Can they entertain someone who grew up on Spider-Man reboots and Jim Carrey movies, or will they forever be relics of a bygone era?
