John Innes, BVSc, PhD, CertVR, DSAS(Orth), FRCVS, a director of Movement Referrals: Independent Veterinary Specialists near Runcorn in Cheshire.
He is an RCVS specialist in small animal orthopaedics and spent 22 years in clinical academia, latterly as professor of small animal surgery, where his research focused on osteoarthritis and comparative orthopaedics.
He has published more than 100 peer-reviewed papers and 15 textbook chapters. While at the University of Liverpool, John developed the “Liverpool Osteoarthritis in Dogs” client-reported outcomes measure. He also founded the British Veterinary Orthopaedic Association Canine Hip Registry and co-developed the Humeral Intracondylar Repair System implant for humeral intracondylar fissure.
