Listen to our episode on Treating Pelvis Fractures as Dr. Milton (Chip) Routt and Dr. Hawkins gives us an excellent overview! Dr. Routt is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who has been in practice since 1983. He specializes in orthopedic trauma and fracture treatment, with a focus on patients who have multiple injuries. His specialties include acetabular (hip socket) and pelvic ring disruptions, as well as acetabular fractures. Dr. Chip Routt received his bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University and his medical degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. He completed an orthopedic surgery internship and residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, and an orthopedic traumatology fellowship at the University of Washington Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. He is recognized for spearheading the development of safe percutaneous pelvic fixation techniques, relevant pelvic biomechanical research, dependable pelvic and acetabular imaging, innovative and improved surgical care for complex acetabular fractures, optimizing surgical decision-making, and clinical judgment, and advancing surgical safety through risk reduction. We also have Dr. Barrett Hawkins, who returns for a repeat appearance on this podcast episode. He is a current Orthopaedic Surgery PGY-3 at Tulane University SOM, and future Orthopaedic Traumatologist.
