Maybe at the beginning of your relationship, your partner got you flowers every week. You absolutely gushed with appreciation and excitement… Until one week, he didn’t get you flowers. And you decided to throw a little tantrum about it. After all, he brings them every week–why not this one? What is he thinking? After that little hissy fit…do you think he wants to bring you flowers next week? I sure don’t. The masculine THRIVES on appreciation. And when you take that away and switch it out for expectation…the masculine will shrivel up in an instant. When the masculine isn’t appreciated, it will stop wanting to show up.
