Description

Malo  and welcome to Season 4 Episode 22 of Breakfast Bites, by  TeivovoSports.com – a wrap of Pasifika Peoples sports on this beautiful  blue sky Monday morning 23 January 2023, coming to you from paradise on  the 180th meridian in the middle of the Pacific Ocean ! In the Hamilton 7s: Viva Los Pumas! Argentina  came back from 12-0 down to win the Men’s Final 14-12 against the All  Blacks Sevens while USA took bronze with a 15-14 win over France. Fiji lost their 5th place Semifinal 19-26 Australia. New  Zealand Women won HSBC World Rugby 7s Series gold on a dramatic final  day in Hamilton with Michaela Blyde scoring a hat-trick in a 33-7 win  over USA in the Cup final, while Australia claimed bronze thanks to a  33-17 victory over Ireland. Also on Day 2: Samoa beat great Britain 14-24 and they also walloped Kenya 5-26  to finish a very credible 9th, while Tonga lost to Kenya 33-19. New  Zealand now lead the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series Men’s standings on  63 points with USA second on 61 points and Argentina third on 59 points. While the Black Ferns lead the Women’s standings on 58 points with Australia second on 54 points and USA third on 50 points. In football – BREAKING  NEWS: Lionel Messi has given his word to extend his contract with Paris  Saint-Germain for two more years, rejecting a lucrative offer from  Inter Miami. Meanwhile,  Liverpool and Chelsea did little for their chances of climbing into the  EPL’s top four with an uninspiring 0-0 draw as Everton lost another  game 2-0 at West Ham and edge ever closer to relegation. In  Sportsbiz – Like no other sports, the NFL is leading the way in  monetizing every aspect of the new digital media space; now licensing streaming rights for their games in restaurants and bars for US$200 million. As they say in Texas, it all adds up. In  boxing – the UFC is back, returning to Brazil where everyone was asking  themselves after four rounds: How is Glover Teixeira still standing?  How is this 43-year-old ready to go another five minutes? It ultimately  ended in defeat to Jamahal Hill, the UFC’s new Light Heavyweight  Champion.
