Description

Friends of the Rosary:
Today, August 24th, is the Feast of the apostle St. Bartholomew, also known as Nathaniel.
He was a doctor in Jewish law and a seeker of the truth.
As a close friend of St. Philip the Apostle, he had the opportunity to see Christ. He recognized the Savior immediately as the Son of God.
On that initial meeting, Jesus uttered the glorious compliment: "Behold, an Israelite indeed in whom there is no guile!"
After the Resurrection, St. Bartholomew was favored by becoming one of the few apostles who witnessed the appearance of the risen Lord on the sea of Galilee (John 21:2).
After having received the gifts of the Holy Spirit on the first Pentecost, Bartholomew evangelized Asia Minor, northwestern India, and Greater Armenia. Here, while preaching to idolaters, he was arrested and martyred.
The Armenians honor him as the apostle of their nation and they proudly claim they were the first Christian State.
Ave Maria!Jesus, I Trust In You!St. Bartholomew, Pray for Us!
To Jesus through Mary!
