Description
[Comment: Immortal Soul]
Friends of the Rosary,
We spend our lives defending ourselves against assaults on our “body”, that is, diseases, misfortunes, temptations. That’s fine. However, what really matters is our precious, eternal, and immortal soul.
There are people in this world who can kill our bodies but cannot kill the soul. And there is the Evil, the enemy of the Spirit, who can destroy both our body and soul, as Jesus warned us.
To take care of our soul, a virtue to cultivate is humility. As St Augustine wrote, humility is the foundation of all other virtues.
We learn about Humility from the Virgin Mary through her entire holy life and especially in the first mystery of the Annunciation, when She said yes to the Lord, opening the door of hope in human history.
