Kenny Payne and the Louisville Cardinals were dealt a tough blow when 2023 five-star guard Trentyn Flowers announced he is leaving the program and instead will play for the Adelaide 36ers of the NBL in Australia, citing a desire to play point guard as the reason. What does this mean for a Cardinals squad that only won four games last year, but brought in multiple talented transfers and freshmen? And will this trend of players going to the NBL instead of college basketball continue?
While some players are headed overseas, there are also plenty of international players coming to the states, including Luka Krajnovic who will play for Mark Few and Gonzaga next season.
