Description

Husband and Wife cover Psalms 141 - 143Psalm 141: A Prayer for Preservation from Evil. Starts, "Lord, I cry unto thee." The hard copy of this stuff was super messy, so a couple of the verses were corrupt, which means this translation is a "best guess" scenario. Not sure how this doesn't apply to the entire daggone Bible, but okay. Psalm 142: A Prayer for Help in Trouble. Starts, "I cried unto the LORD with my voice." This psalm is used as a prayer in times of distress. David was such a cryer. Psalm 143: An Earnest Prayer or Appeal for Deliverance and Guidance. Starts, "Lord, hear my prayer, listen to my cry for mercy." Can you even imagine making demands of a god who smote folks for picking up sticks on the wrong day? This guy has some cajones... or a severe lack of sandwiches in his picnic basket. Husband and Wife are two non-believers who have always wanted to read the Bible. Why would we subject ourselves to this you might ask? From our perspective it helps us understand where the Christians around us, here in the Midwest, are coming from when they quote the Bible at us. Husband is basically an Atheist and wife leans Agnostic but mostly Atheist and we're just having some fun at the Bible's expense while learning more about what our neighbors claim we're going to hell over.
