Robert was raised in the gang-filled streets of East Los Angeles and came from a family with a rich military heritage. He joined the Army National Guard as a Motor Transport Operator and was deployed to Iraq for two combat tours. Despite his challenges and dangers, Robert persevered and continued to serve his country with bravery and honor. However, after his deployments, he faced a new challenge when his wife divorced him, leaving him with nothing to come home to. Despite feeling lost and alone, Robert made four attempts to take his life but overcame these difficulties and got back on his feet.
