Sometimes the government gets a vote on who contractors subcontract to. In some specific cases, mostly when using cost type contracts, the government has the right to give consent to subcontract. This means that the contractor has to prove that a subcontractor is “worthy” of getting the subcontract.The reason behind the consent to subcontract is the government wants to know that the subcontract is as good of a deal as the prime contract is.
