A new report from media consultant Jim Williams has linked the Miami Hurricanes to a possible BIG 10 move. According to Williams’ source, the conference is looking to expand south into the heart of SEC country and they have interest in Miami and UNC. Alex Donno discusses why this move would be attractive for Miami and for the BIG 10 but why leaving the ACC would be so difficult. The ACC’s Grant of Rights agreement is considered ironclad through 2036 and the buyout cost is estimated at $120 million per school. Are there any loopholes or other ways out?
Donno breaks down some important recruiting dates to know within the next week and a half. On Friday, offensive lineman Deryc Plazz will be deciding between Miami and NC State. On Saturday, class of 2025 tight end Davon Mitchell will pick between Oklahoma, Miami and USC. There has been talk of Mitchell possibly reclassifying to 2024. The following Saturday, July 15th, TE Caleb Odom will decide between Alabama, Miami and Ole Miss.
