When Taylor Hall was dealt to the Chicago Blackhawks last week, the expectation among fans was the Boston Bruins were clearing space to re-sign Tyler Bertuzzi.
Not the case.
The Bruins needed to clear space to fill out the roster, and the did that on July 1 by signing Milan Lucic, James van Riemsdyk, Kevin Shattenkirk, Morgan Geekie, and Patrick Brown to deal that equal Hall's old cap hit.
