The Boston Bruins are reportedly interested in Ottawa Senators restricted free agent Shane Pinto.
The center did score 20 goals as a rookie last season, but Locked on Bruins host Ian McLaren argues it wouldn't make much sense to flip a top prospect like Fabian Lysell to fill a role that's occupied by Morgan Geekie or Trent Frederic.
These are guys with similar upside the Bruins invested in this past offseason, leaving them without the cap space to sign Pinto.
