Description

American Patricia (Pattie) Wu-Murad was an avid world explorer and hiker.  She had traveled to Japan in the past to hike the beautiful scenery.  She returned again in March 2023 for another adventure and something went wrong.

Pattie left her accommodation on April 9 to resume her hike.  When she didn't arrive at her next stop later that day as planned, the alarm was raised.  Local authorities in Japan started looking for Pattie, but her family was not notified of the situation until April 14.

Her family raced to Japan and started their own search for her.  They were met with red-tape, language barriers and a lack of resources.  The search was fruitless and they finally had to stop searching for Pattie on May 30, as the typhoon season became imminent.

In this episode of the True Crime Society Podcast, we discuss the vanishing of Pattie Wu-Murad.

Was Pattie lost to the elements following an accident?  Or did she encounter someone sinister that day on the trail?

In this episode, we also discuss the recent Titan Submarine Disaster and some life updates.  Please forward to (15:24) if you would like to go straight to Pattie's story.
