On April 28, 2023, the North Carolina Supreme Court overruled itself in a case called Harper v. Hall. It held that courts cannot interfere with the state legislature's authority in drawing congressional and state legislature redistricting maps. Now, the Court may lack jurisdiction to issue a ruling.
