Description

Husband and Wife cover Psalms 56 - 57[[Support our Campaign to raise funds for our live broadcast equipment]] https://giveb.co/s/YOmP73Miktam is a word of unknown meaning found in the headings of this group of Psalms. Maybe it's a lid! Who could know?Psalm 56: A Prayer of Trust. Starts, "Be merciful unto me, O God: for man would swallow me up." This psalm is a prayer for help against enemies, by which it is meant that the psalmist prays God will kill people and absolutely demolish entire nations. So sweet!Psalm 57: A Prayer for Rescue from Persecutors. Starts, "Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me." This psalm refers to that time David was hiding in a cave watching Saul do peepees. Much poesy!Join us on DISCORD: https://discord.gg/8RwwMrb5zKSkip the ads by joining Acast+ https://plus.acast.com/s/6331d364470c7900137bb57dThank you for stopping by Sacrilegious Discourse - Bible Study for Atheists!Check out these links for more information about our podcast and merchandise:Our Homepage: https://sacrilegiousdiscourse.com/Help support us by subscribing on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/sacrilegiousdiscourse Join Acast+ to enjoy our podcast adfree and get EARLY access to our episodes! https://plus.acast.com/s/sacrilegious-discourse-bible-study-for-atheists.

Husband and Wife are two non-believers who have always wanted to read the Bible. Why would we subject ourselves to this you might ask? From our perspective it helps us understand where the Christians around us, here in the Midwest, are coming from when they quote the Bible at us. Husband is basically an Atheist and wife leans Agnostic but mostly Atheist and we're just having some fun at the Bible's expense while learning more about what our neighbors claim we're going to hell over.
