Dr. Toby Travis (https://www.linkedin.com/in/drtobytravis) is the head of School for The Village Christian Academy, founder and developer of TrustED, a research and evidence-based framework for school improvement focused on developing trusted school leaders. The framework serves as the basis for the "TrustED® School Leader 360" Assessment, which schools worldwide utilize to inform improvement initiatives. He is author of "TrustED: The Bridge to School Improvement," named "Book of The Month" (November 2021) and nominated for "Book of The Year" (2021) by The Magic Pen. Articles and work are featured in Forbes, CEOWorld Magazine, eSchool News, Authority Magazine, Businessing Magazine, The Knowledge Review, Medium, and numerous podcasts. In addition to being a practitioner (i.e., daily applying the TrustED framework in the school he is currently leading), it is also his privilege to work alongside school leaders around the globe as a coach, trainer, and consultant, assisting others to date in over 20 countries of the world.

S2E3 - COVID-19 Accelerating the Shift to a New Normal in the Workplace and the Future of Work: Although technological advances are sometimes viewed with fear, specifically that technology will replace jobs, technology has created new types of work that were formerly not even imagined. As we have seen with the response to COVID-19 in terms of rapid technological innovation and adoption to facilitate working from home, technology can enable “global, flexible and independent work” and in particular, in the Global South. However, the impact of technological changes may be uneven displacing some individuals while creating jobs for others. The future of work in the Global South is closely tied to technological innovation, but as these innovations evolve, attention must be paid to policies that protect workers and provide for education and training to help these workers develop the needed skills.
