Did you know that some birds act almost like primates? Today Jack is joined by Dr. Lucy Kemp, Project Manager of the Mabula Ground Hornbill Project and Chair of the IUCN Hornbill specialist group! She is here to tell us all about the incredible world of the Southern Ground Hornbill!
The duo chat all about what they are, how Lucy became interested in them, how they are impacted by human and elephant behaviours and their important cultural role! On top of that, they also discuss how the Mabula Ground Hornbill Project is working to protect them from environmental change and poisoning.
Finally, Jack and Lucy discuss how research done on the Southern Ground Hornbill can potentially be used to inform the study of the Northern Ground Hornbill!
