Welcome to a very, very special episode! I am so excited to say that I have been named as BIAZA’s Rising Star of 2023. BIAZA is the British & Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums, and the award recognises the efforts of an individual who has gone above and beyond to support their collection and the wider zoo community (imagine if the zoo world had Oscars)! Today, I am going to tell you all about why this means the world to me! I am grateful to everyone who has supported me in this brilliantly bizarre conservation journey, you are the reason I keep going and I owe you the entire world. This award is for… Holly and Amy (who nominated me),Jodi (my zoo partner in crime),Everyone in the zoo world who has shown me such kindness,Everyone at the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland for being a beautiful and supportive family,And my Mum, Dad and Sister, who have given me the entire world and encouraged me to follow every pathway… even if it leads to somewhere unpredictable! I should also thank Dharma, Gloria, Snowflake, Qabid, Mo and all the other animals who are my constant inspiration. I won’t stop working until we live in a world where nature is protected, valued and loved. I love you all. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You ?
